Learning to lean into loss
Let me fall and softly land
Upon a deep pillow of grace
Let no lesson yet remain
Let the free fall be enough
Catch me with gentle wonder and
Delight.
Leaving behind every ruse
Let my life this witness bear
Upon dark acceptance of grief
Let sorrow ebb and end
Let my lasting tribute be
Hands cupping forgiveness like a
Chalice.

"Let no lesson yet remain"

Yes, "Let no lesson yet remain." Once we learn the lesson--finally and truly--we don't have that lesson left to learn. I have learned enough lessons that by now, there should be none left--that last one was imperative, and only finally learnt recently. Some of us are slow to embrace in ourselves what we can easily allow for in others: The beautiful imperfection of being altogether human and heavy with fallibility.
